Stage Door Irvington INC

Space Rental Agreement:

General Conditions and Responsibilities

  • Visiting Artists/Directors under the responsibility of Renter, will be required to “shut down the building” after each rehearsal or performance. If the building is not properly shut down/secured after a rehearsal or performance, resulting in loss of Stage Door property or destruction of Stage Door facilities, the Artist using the space will forfeit their deposit.
  • The theater is not responsible for stolen items. While Stage Door will make every attempt to keep all items safe, ultimately it is the responsibility of the renter to mitigate and/or insure their equipment.
  • Violations of Stage Door’s Space Use policy will result in a written warning. If the issue is not resolved, and the policy repeatedly abused, the visiting artist will lose deposit monies and/or lose the use of the space.
  • Upon completion of rental, the space will be reviewed together by a Stage Door volunteer and the renter, and if approved, deposit monies returned. In the case of missing equipment, damages to the building, or unclaimed/abandoned materials, the deposit money will be forfeited to Stage Door Irvington.
  • The space may use video surveillance, the video footage belongs to Stage Door.
  • Stage Door Irvington is not responsible for any bodily or physical injury that may occur to renters. It is the renting party’s sole responsibility to insure their persons and associates while on Stage Door Irvington property.

●  No outside alcohol or recreational drugs of any kind are permitted on the premises. Alcohol can only be enjoyed if provided by Stage Door or approved vendors, through licensed bar-tenders. Never during rehearsals, and never left in the space. We share the space with people of all ages and must follow the guidelines accordingly.

●  No weapons permitted in the space. Prop weapons require a written notification to Stage Door Irvington via email: laurakrell20@gmail.com in advance.

Storage, props, costumes ...

  • All sets, props, costumes, or equiptment for upcoming (actively rehearsing shows) must be placed on the designated props table, and/or moved behind the 4-foot downstage curtain, at the end of every rehearsal, as to leave a versatile and empty space for incoming acts.
  • Storage: In the case that a Director/Artist needs to store items in the theater before, after, or during the run of a show, the items must be clearly labeled and stored off-stage in the designated Artist Storage Bay with their corresponding number. These items may never be left strewn around the space.
  • Sets, props, costumes, or equiptment for upcoming (actively rehearsing shows) may never be touched, moved, or handled by other artists. If a conflict arises, call the Stage Door manager, rather than moving or disturbing other property.
  • Outside equipment may be brought into the theater, but must be removed within a timely manner. After two weeks post-event, any abandoned property will be forfeited, and becomes the property of Stage Door.
  • During “Tech Week,” artists may leave costumes and personal belongings in the Green Room. However, these must be limited to the dressing table, costume rack, and designated storage areas. Nothing may be left in the “House,” space. After two weeks post-event, any abandoned items will be forfeited, and becomes the property of Stage Door.
  • During “Tech Week” it may be absolutely necessary for elements from the set or props to protrude beyond the 4-ft downstage curtain. In which case, visiting artists/acts will simply have to “work around” the set and props. This accommodation should be made in the most professional manner from both parties, and should be directly communicated with Laura Krell and Elysia Lucinda via a group FB Messenger, or email, if any issues arise.
